Empowering Women Globally!

Every year on the 8th of March, we celebrate the international women’s Day to honor and respect feminine in all its forms. When we talk about women, we talk about a form that has innumerous roles to play in our society and also within our hearts. This year instead of celebrating it officially on just 8th of march, we celebrated March as women’s Month. We talk about the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

When the announcement of the celebration of women’s day came out the first time in 1911, huge applause was supporting the cause that was so much needed and was important to be recognized. Since the old days, we have believed and always followed a patriarchal society where women were treated as second class humans. Men dominated in all retrospect may it be sports, technology or taking the smallest decisions.

But as the zeal of equal women grew stronger, more and more faces were there to mark the beauty and excellence of women. More articles on women empowerment came along and legendary idols like Mother Teresa, Rani Lakshami bai, Sarojni Naidu, etc were names that wrote history and set an essential benchmark on society.

The world has made unprecedented advances, but no country has achieved gender equality. Fifty years ago, we landed on the moon; in the last decade, we discovered new human ancestors and photographed a black hole for the first time. In the meantime, legal restrictions have kept 2.7 billion women from accessing the same choice of jobs as men. Less than 25 percent of parliamentarians were women, as of 2019. One in three women experience gender-based violence, still.

Let’s make 2020 count for women and girls everywhere!

 Theme Of International Women’s Day

The theme of International Women’s Day 2020 is, I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights. The theme is aligned with UN Women’s new multigenerational campaign, Generation Equality, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the most progressive roadmap for the empowerment of women and girls, everywhere.

This year we will also be celebrating other major UN anniversaries, such as the 10th anniversary of the establishment of UN Women, among others. This is high time to love the one who has loved us in all circumstances, Lets today pay a tribute!

“A Tribute to – A Mother, A Daughter, A sister, Our Mother Earth and last but the greatest The source of Life within us!”
